Like the original Pinewood Derby ® first created by Cubmaster Don Murphy in 1953, competitors have the opportunity to construct their very own RBB Pintwood Derby car out of a block of wood (pine), plastic wheels and metal axles and then race it on our gravity powered race track.

Right Brain Brewery will be selling RBB Pintwood Derby kits starting Saturday, January 2nd, for only $25. RBB Pintwood Derby kit will include an official stamped block of pine wood and your entry fee for the first race. Competitors are responsible for finding their own wheels and metal axles. The cost of entering your car after your first race is only $5 per week.

As long as you are 21 years old you can register solo or on a team of up to four people for a chance to build and race your RBB Pintwood Derby car. Races will take place at Right Brain Brewery every Wednesday night beginning at 7 p.m. The RBB Pintwood Derby winter racing series is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, January 27th, and run through Wednesday, April 14th. Each race will count for points toward The RBB Beer Cup Series Championship. In addition, weekly CA$H prizes will be awarded!

F.Y.I.....
Weekly Points:
Racing points will remain as described in the rules.

Points for Aesthetics: will be awarded by 3 secret , unbiased judges every week. Each judge can award 5 points and these points will count toward the Beer Cup points race. So, if your car looks like a woodpecker, or a porcupine, you have a chance to stay in the points race regardless of your on-track performance.

Grand Prize for Aesthetics: At the end of the year, the car with the most points will win a fully amazing prize package from RBB. (FULLY AMAZING MEANS THIS PRIZE WILL ALTER YOUR PERCEPTION OF THE UNIVERSE AROUND YOU. PLEASE, DON'T FREAK OUT)

Perfect Attendance Award: The racer or team that manages to race every week, from now until the bitter end will be awarded a great prize for "perfect attendance" While, it may be tempting to play hooky, you will regret missing a race when you see that brown noser who made every race sporting a ballin' a$$ prize.

Challenge Track: Beginning this week, each racer will have a chance to win extra points for facing down a challenge devised by the awful monsters at TJC Design. The race marshall will determine the value of the challenge every week totally arbitrarily. Running the Challenge Track will cost you an extra $1. This beer-soaked dollar will be donated to the Boy Scouts.

Further Incentives:
Happy Hour Tokens: Each registered team member will receive a Happy Hour token good for a $3 pint upon check-in.

Life-Changing Door Prizes: will be awarded to spectators and pit-crews. Grab a ticket from the Race Marshall. (Hint: He'll be wearing a fire suit)

Referrals: Any person who coerces another person into participating in this weekly freak show (gets them to buy a car kit and race) will be awarded an extremely free prize.

Nightly Schedule:
7 pm: Check-In
Check-In will take place promptly around 7. Once the brackets are made, late racers will not be able to enter.
7:30 pm: Test-n-Tune
8 pm: Race (draw straws for lanes)
9:30 (ish): Challenge Course
9:30 (ish): Draw for door prizes

While these rules are meant to encourage participation by all racers, the race will stay a race and the fastest cars will still win. However, with new opportunities to earn points, the points race will be more competitive. So, hardcore racers, bring your a-game.

RBB would like to thank our Race Marshall for the super cool pix of the Pintwood cars!
